Students of Degree College Kathua protest, block road

KATHUA, Mar 20: The students of Degree College Kathua held a protest demonstration against the Bus Union and blocked the College road for half an hour in support of their demand.
The college students boycotted the classes, came on road and blocked the College road and movement of vehicular traffic was paralyzed. They were raising the slogans against Government and Bus Union.
While addressing the youth Rajesh Kumar a student alleged the bus operators are not giving concessions in bus fare. As per rules 50% fare concessions are mandatory for students holding the identity cards . But the bus operators ignore them clearly refuse to give any concessions to them. The bus operators did not stop the busses when student want to get a lift.
He alleged that the fare concessions are right of students. As numbers of students belong to far off areas and comes to college while travelling in mini buses and buses .The students asked the Transport Department to take action against Bus Union and give them justice. Following the blockage of college road, SHO Kathua, Anil Sharma reached on spot and pacified the students and assured them that he will highlight their demands before the concerning authorities. The traffic was restored later on the road and students dispersed peacefully.
