JAMMU, Mar 24: The apathy of the staff appointed by J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) has proved costly for the future of the students appearing in the class 12th examinations as at one of the examination centres in Talab Tillo area, the students appearing in the mathematics paper today were denied continuation sheets.
As per sources, students of class 12th were appearing for Mathematics paper at examination centre number 114 allotted by BOSE at NSM Higher Secondary School, Patta Bohri, Talab Tillo.
When the students started demanding continuation sheets, the staff deputed at the examination centre denied the same, thus creating anguish among the students, sources added.
The reason behind denying the continuation sheets to the students was the lethargic approach of the staff deputed by the BOSE for the conduct of the examination as they failed to carry the continuation sheets with them for the smooth conduct of the paper, sources added.
As the students started putting pressure on the staff, one of the staff members rushed to the BOSE and procured the continuation sheets around 12.50 PM, sources said, adding that till then the allotted time of the examination was over.
When contacted BOSE Secretary Renu Goswami told Excelsior that for this incident, the school authorities where the centre is made are responsible as they did not inform the BOSE about the shortage of continuation sheets, which resulted into inconvenience to the students appearing in today’s mathematics paper.
“Our role is to provide stationary to the examination centres and if there is any shortage of same, the school authorities should inform BOSE”, she added.
