Rajouri, Nov 7: An Educational-cum-Motivational tour comprising 23 students and two teachers from remote areas of Rajouri district was flagged off by Karmat Ulla Khan, Sarpanch, from Basoni, today.
The Rashtriya Rifles battalion under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) organised a ten day tour from Nov 7, 16 to Darjeeling and Gangtok. The tour has been organised as part of the ongoing ‘Op Sadbhavana’.
The aim of the tour was, to showcase the development of the country to the youth from the remote and far flung rural areas, as also to provide them an opportunity to visit important places of interest and to interact with the people of those regions and also eminent personalities, thereby widening their horizon.
The local populace and family members of students, expressed their gratitude to the Army, for having provided them an opportunity to venture outside their region and to visit the other parts of the country. They were confident that this endeavour would broaden their horizon to a great extent, and that they would share their experiences with their family and friends, on their return.
