Students of HPS bring laurels to institution

JAMMU, Oct 3: The students of Humanity Public School (HPS) (Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana) brought laurels to the institution by winning two Gold  and two Silver Medals in the Inter District State Level Athletic Meet (2015-16).
This meet was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports which was recently held at Bakshi Stadium (Srinagar). About 500 students from all districts of J&K State participated in this tournament.
In U-14 yrs (Girls) category, Yasmeen Akhtar of 8th standard won two Gold Medals in 100 mtr sprint and 200 mtr race; while in Long Jump she got Silver Medal.
In U-17 yrs (Girls) category, Neha Jaral of 9th standard won Silver Medal in Long Jump.
The students of the school who participated in this Athletic Meet were honoured in the special assembly by Gaurav Charak (Principal),  Anku Charak (vice Principal), Mahan Singh (PTI),  Surekha and Ajay Sharma (Sports Incharge) along with the staff members.
On this occasion Principal of the school said that the school management is paying focused attention to promote Physical Education in school and in this regard sports infrastructure has been upgraded in the school for providing platform to the students to take part in different sports activities at District, State and National Levels.
