With the agenda of promoting a holistic growth among its students, the city based Parul University organising a contemporary dance workshop. The workshop was as a result of one of the University’s fruitful international relations whereby Professor Janet Lilly, Director of Dance at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, USA conducted the sessions. The daylong workshop took place on the 10th of January at the PU Vadodara campus.
Teaching the students along with enhancing their unique talents and skill sets has always been one of Parul University’s underlying principles. The dance workshop, acting as a platform to improve the dancing skills of the students, with a light touch of American Contemporary dance moves. Beyond the Indian traditional dances which the students are continuously, the workshop proved to be an addicting element that broadened the dancing scope of the Parul University dancers.
The University’s Director of Cultural Affairs Professor Hiral Goud said that “our efforts as a University a focused on ensuring that our students get to have the finest form of cultural expression, and above all that they get to learn to appreciate the Indian culture more. We take every chance possible to ensure that our students get exposed not only to the curricular education but the extra curricular activities as well”.
Parul University’s continuing efforts of exposing the students to platform for enhancing their skill sets and talents is seen through its vibrant annual festival Dhoom. The festival is scheduled to be held this month from the 21st to the 23rd of this month, on this platform the students will get to showcase their newly learnt dancing skills. “we are very much glad that our open arms policy towards globalisation and internationalisation continues to create lasting global learning opportunities for the students of India” expressed the University’s Managing Trustee Dr Parul Patel.
