Students protest against anti-national sloganeering in MAM College

JAMMU, Sept 8: A section of the students at Post Graduate MAM College Jammu today staged a protest against the alleged anti-national sloganeering by some students of the College Hostel after win of Asia Cup match by Pakistan, last night.
As per the reports, at around 11 pm yesterday, some students of a community raised slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad, Hindustan Murdabad’ in the College Hostel after Pakistan cricket team defeated Afghanistan in a thrilling Asia Cup match. Some others students objected to their sloganeering and in the morning, when they were going to give a written complaint to the Principal, one of the accused and around 40-50 outsiders armed with lathis and sharp edged weapons stopped their way and thrashed them badly.
Later, students of the College led by ABVP activists submitted a written complaint to the Principal as well as Police Post Nehru Market (Ware House) and staged a strong protest as well as dharna in the College premises, demanding expulsion and termination of the one of the accused students from the Hostel as well as the College.
Principal of the MAM College, GS Rakwal, when contacted, said that strict action will be taken in the matter. “We have received a complaint regarding anti-national slogans raised in the hostel after the match last night. We are probing the matter but prima facie the accused was found guilty of raising anti-national slogans and on the basis of that, we have expelled him from the Hostel,”
