REASI, Aug 26: Up in the arms against alleged arrogant and criminal behaviour of minibus operators on the Ransoo route, a large number of students of Ransoo Higher Secondary School held a strong protest demonstration and blocked Dadar Morh disrupting vehicular movement for more than five hours.
Shouting slogans, the protesting students alleged that the minibus operators were plying public transport on the route on their own terms and conditions instead of obeying the general transport rules. They also alleged harassment to girl students by the drivers and conductors of these minibuses.
As the protest continued resulting into road blockage, SHO Ransoo reached there but failed to pacify agitating students who also raised slogans against the former.
The protesting students could be pacified only after Naib Tehsildar Pouni personally reached the spot and assured to solve their problem by taking stern action against the minibus operators who violate the route permit or not obey other traffic rules.
