SRINAGAR, July 2: Students at Central University of Kashmir’s Tulmulla campus protested today against a significant hike in tuition fees and the lack of essential facilities.
Scores of students gathered outside the campus, raising slogans and carrying banners with messages like “Fee Hike, Roll Back” and “Education is a Right, Not, a Privilege.” They claimed that the increased fees have made it difficult for many to continue their education.
The protesters emphasized that their issue is not with the University itself but with the steep fees and the inadequate campus amenities, such as clean drinking water, functional washrooms, and new buildings.

“The fee hike has placed a huge financial burden on us and our families. Despite our repeated requests, the administration has ignored our pleas. We are left with no option but to protest and demand justice,” said one student.
The students pledged to continue their protest until their demands were addressed. “We will fight for our right to education and ensure that basic facilities are accessible to all,” they declared.
