A group of aggrieved students gathered in the press enclave, carrying placards and chanting slogans denouncing the board authorities. According to the students, their schools had submitted their award rolls, but the Board authorities failed to include them, citing a “technical glitch.”
Fouzia, one of the protesting students, stated, “The issue affects over 50 students from different centers. It occurred with the Chemistry paper, where we have been marked as absent for the external section.”
The students claimed to have obtained 90 percent marks in the exams but were astonished to find themselves listed as “reappear” in the results. This situation has caused significant psychological distress for the students as well as their families.
In an attempt to resolve the matter, the protesting students visited the Pulwama Sub-Office, where they were informed that the awards had been submitted. However, upon reaching the JKBOSE office in Bemina, they were informed about a technical glitch.
“The concerned teachers have shown us the submitted awards, and we have evidence to support our claim. It is disheartening that the authorities are not taking this matter seriously and have abandoned us to suffer,” said one of the students.
The students demanded that the mistake be rectified within 24 hours, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
