REASI, Sept 3: Up in arms against beating up of their colleagues by a female teacher, students of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Reasi, held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
Demanding apology from the erring teacher, the protesting students staged a dharna in front of the school and then moved to Bus Stand area where vehicular traffic was disrupted.
The trouble erupted this morning when the erring teacher allegedly beaten up two students of class 12th for hooting and blowing whistles. This led to a strong reaction by other students, who boycotted their classes and assembled in front of the school, where a strong protest demonstration was held.
As the accused teacher refused to admit her mistake, the protesting students moved towards the Bus Stand area and staged a demonstration there, resulting into blockage of vehicular movement.
The protesting students dispersed off only after Tehsildar and DySP Reasi reached the spot and on their intervention, the school administration tendered an apology for the incident besides identifying real culprits who had whistled.
