UDHAMPUR, June 8: The students staged protest demonstration at Chenani town today and blocked Udhampur Chenani road.
They were protesting against the order of Deputy Comm-issioner Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal who had initiated action against Principal of Higher Secondary School, Chenani Ashok Kumar, presently attached by the DDC. They alleged that order was revengeful and unjustified and the Principal be restored to the School. They shouted slogans against the DC and demanded revocation of the said order. The movement of the traffic remained suspended on the road for long and the public suffered due to protest on the road.
Later, SP Udhampur, Benam Tosh, Addl DC and CEO Udhampur Balbir Singh rushed to the spot. They pacified the agitating students. After discussing the issue with the DC the controversial order of attachment was withdrawn. It was maintained that disciplinary action would be taken against the principal and other three teachers for the misconduct.
