Students protest, demand additional fleet of buses

KISHTWAR, July 8: The students from various areas adjoining Hasti today held protest and sat on dharna on Kishtwar-Doda national highway.
A large number of students assembled near Hasti and held protest. They blocked the vehicular movement on the Kishtwar-Doda national highway.
The protesting students said that after the tragic accident in Keshwan in which 35 persons were killed and 16 others were injured, the drivers of the commercial vehicles are not boarding them fearing of getting challaned.
“This is hampering our studies as we are unable to reach out institutions”, they said and demanded additional fleet of buses for them.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and assured to take up their issue with the concerned authorities for redressal.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the highway.
