RAMBAN, Oct 4: The irate students of Government Degree College held protest here against their professor for sending lewd messages to girl students.
As per reports, a large number of students including girl students assembled at the main gate of Government Degree College here and raised slogans against their English Professor and NSS Coordinator SA Ganai for harassing and sending lewd messages to the girl students.
“The Professor is asking for sexual favour to girl students in lieu of giving them passing marks in the practical examinations”, a protesting girl student said, adding that when the girls did not paid heed towards advances of the Professor, the latter started harassing them by sending lewd messages.
The behaviour of the said professor during college hours was also not good as he use to pass obscene remarks towards female students, she added.
“Initially we did not paid heed towards the lewd comments passed by our Prof SA Ganai, but now it has become intolerable”, another girl student stated.
The protesting students were demanding action against the said professor and his transfer from the college, so that the female students can concentrate on their studies.
Later, Principal of the college Dr Ravinder Kumar Tickoo intervened and pacified the agitating students.
“Initially we had taken all the additional charge of NSS Coordinator from the Prof SA Ganai and further necessary action will be taken shortly”, said Principal while talking to the Excelsior.
