Students protest seeking relaxation in eligibility criteria for admission in DDE

JAMMU, Aug 7: Agitated over the Jammu University decision of setting minimum 60 percent marks in Graduation as eligibility criteria for getting admission in some course at the Directorate of Distance Education, a number of students held a protest demonstration at DDE complex, here today.
The protesting students raised slogans against the DDE authorities and demanded relaxation in eligibility criteria for admission besides re-introducing Political Science, Economics and M Ed through Distance mode.
The protest was organized under the banner of Distance Students Union, led by its president Mukesh Parihar, who addressed the protesting students and threatened to continue struggle till the demands are conceded.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included Sanjay Kotwal, Rajeshwar Singh, Firoz, Singh and Ravinder.
