UDHAMPUR, Mar 29: The students of Government High School Sira, tehsil Latti Mrothi in Udhampur district and locals of the area held a protest against shortage staff in GHS Sira.
The protesting villagers and students alleged that besides shortage of teaching staff, the school was headless as there has been no Headmaster. “This school has total 17 sanctioned posts of teacher but only 7 are filled and remaining 10 posts are vacant, with the result that the students are facing manifold problems to get their queries solved pertaining to their subjects,” they explained.
The students further complained that there was no proper sitting arrangement in the school.
Later, a delegation of students and their parents submitted a memorandum to Chief Education Officer Udhampur who assured deployment of required teaching staff in the school.
