Students raise Rs 1.10 lakh for old age people

JAMMU, May 27: Exhibiting exemplary sense of social responsibility, students of Jesus Care Convent School, Paloura area have raised a fund of amounting around Rs 1,10,000 for the welfare of old aged citizens through HelpAge India.
Breaking its own previous record of collection of Rs 70,000, this time the tiny tots of Jesus Cares Convent have done a wonderful job in the social service and collected a handsome amount as a fund for HelpAge India, an inter-national level organization, working for the welfare of senior citizens.
The amount was handed over to the HelpAge India by Principal, Renu Anthony. The students have mobilized their resources and collected such an amount to help the elderly people. Appreciating such efforts of school students, HelpAge India, senior Executive, Neeru Deepak Khajuria said that this is the big contribution by the students and their staff for the elderly persons, who are helpless.
