Students, scholars call on VC JU

JAMMU, Oct 30: A group of scholars and students of the Jammu University today called on Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar and expressed their concern over frivolous allegation being leveled by some anti-varsity elements to malign the image of this temple of learning.
The students urged Prof Ishar to take cognizance of such attempts so that such actions are discouraged at all the level. They eulogized the role of faculty and said such attempts would be detrimental to the interest and the reputation of the University. Neha Chaudhary, Scholar, JU said that if University starts enquiry into matters on some anonymous letters that is going to open Pandora Box and thus making mockery of the system. She demanded that disciplinary action under rules be conducted so that those elements who are bringing disrepute to the Institution in general and female fraternity in particular be brought to justice.
Prof Ishar assured the students that he would look into the matter and take all necessary measures so that such tendencies are discouraged.
The students who met Vice-chancellor include Shikha Sharma, Amina Rajput, Sakshi Vaid, Ruhi Gupta, Divya, Suruchi Devi, Aditi Jamwal, Ruchi Kumari, Prity Sharma, Narender Kour, Neha Sharma, Sohel Sharma, Akhlesh, P P Singh, Nitin, Varkat Ali, Vikram, Amzad Shah, Minaal, Barkat Ali and others.
