Students, villagers protest against shortage of teachers at HSS Pancheri

UDHAMPUR, May 6: The students of Government Higher Secondary School Pancheri and locals of Pancheri today protested against acute shortage of teaching staff in the school.
The protesting villagers, led by Jaswant Singh, raised slogans against the School Education authorities and said that due to the shortage of staff in the school, the students were facing problems to get their queries pertaining to their subjects solved.
Further, they alleged, there is no proper sitting arrangement in the school, which has student strength of about 400. The school was established as Higher Secondary School in 1985 but till date the students are facing manifold problems. There is shortage of seven Lecturers, Class IV employees and Librarian, they said adding that total four Lecturers were running this Higher Secondary School with 400 students.
According to Daljeet Singh, Chief Education Officer Udhampur, the problem would be addressed soon as posting of more Lecturers was delayed due to enforcement of Modal Code of Conduct.
