UDHAMPUR, June 22: Up in arms against inadequate teaching staff, local villagers and students of Government Higher Secondary School Rasli Gadhern Mjori , block Dudu in Udhampur district today held a strong protest demonstration under the banner of ABVP.
Amidst raising of slogans in support of their demand for adequate teaching staff in the school, the agitating students and villagers also took out a protest rally and threatened to launch indefinite hunger strike if no action is taken on their demand.
Pradeep Jamwal, vice presidents ABVP J&K and Jog Raj, Sarpanch Gadhern, led the protest demonstration. They said that Government Higher Secondary School Rasli Gadhern Majori was being run without lecturer and Principle. They demanded deployment and posting of adequate teaching staff and Principle at this newly upgrade Winter Zone school where class 11th has been started without even a lecturer and Lab facility.
For the student’s strength of about 200, there are only five teachers, who are running this Higher Secondary School without any Principle and Lecturer. The school caters to an area of more than 8 square kilometers but there is neither any lecturer to take classes nor any proper sitting arrangement for the students of class 11th, whose exams will be held in the month of November, this year.
The ABVP leader and Sarpanch appealed Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and Chief Education Officer Udhampur to look into the matter and save future of these students. The protesting students were also addressed by Chhatr Pal, Kasturi Lal, Naresh Kumar and Ankush.
