SRINAGAR, Apr 18: After much delay, a Sub-Committee constituted by the Government way back in January this year to resolve the issues of the CIC Operators working in the Rural Development Department, and failed to meet, is finally set to hold its first meeting on April 19.
In this regard, a meeting notice was today issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) in connection with the subject of issues related to CIC Operators of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
“The meeting on the above quoted subject which was scheduled on 11th March 2022 at 3:00 P.M in the office chambers of Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Finance Department, J&K, at Civil Secretariat, Jammu, shall now be held on 19.04.2022 (Tuesday) at 3.00 P.M. in the Committee Room 1st Floor, Civil Secretariat, Jammu,” reads the meeting notice issued here.
Earlier, after the Sub-Committee was constituted, a meeting notice was issued on March 7 informing the members of the Sub-Committee of a meeting scheduled to be held on March 11, however, the meeting was not held and the same was postponed, much to the annoyance of the CIC Operators who are eagerly waiting for the resolution of their issues.
The members who will be attending the said meeting include Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Health and Medical Education Department, Principal Secretary to Government, Youth Service and Sports Department, Commissioner/Secretary to Government Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Director General (Codes), Finance Department.
The meeting will also have representatives from the Agriculture Production and Farmer’s Welfare Department, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, General Administration Department and the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
It is to be noted here that the CIC Operators who are over 170 in number, are demanding regularization of their services apart from the hike in their salary, however, so far the issues remain pending. Taking note of the issue, the Government formed a Sub-Committee which has been tasked to resolve the issues of the CIC operators.
CIC Operators in this regard underlined that they are not backdoor appointees and have been recruited through proper recruitment procedure in the year 2004.
