Sub Registrar offices to function on 6 days week

JAMMU, Feb 23: The offices of Sub Registrars in the Union Territory of J&K shall function on six days a week for clearance of backlog.
Principal Secretary to Govt, Revenue Department, Shaleen Kabra, in an order issued today directed that all the Sub Registrar Offices (SROs) in the UT of J&K with more than a five days of waiting period, will remain functional on Saturdays also for the purpose of registration in order to clear backlog and public convenience.
The order further said that the office of Inspector General of Registrations (IGR), shall monitor the status of registrations on daily basis. The Deputy Commissioners concerned shall personally monitor and review the functioning of the SROs in their respective districts and shall take appropriate measures, ensuring that the system does not cause inconvenience to the public.
