JAMMU, Nov 4: Under the guidance of Secretary Revenue, a daylong workshop was organised by the Department of Registration here today to familiarize the sub-registrars and their staff about e-office, an online application designed for official Government businesses, including file management and correspondences.
A statement said that this modern approach to office operations offers features like remote access, receipt and dispatch record-keeping, and a significant reduction in the need for physical storage in offices.
It further said that the training, held at the Revenue Training Institute in Gol Gujral, Jammu, was overseen by the Additional Inspector General of Registration (AIGR) for Jammu.
Professionals from the Jammu & Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JaKeGA) and the Information Technology Department provided the training to the participants, it said.
The statement further added that the primary objective of the program was to familiarize the Sub Registrars and their staff with the e-office application. This included tasks such as creating receipts, uploading letters and correspondences, managing files, noting and referencing, dispatching, and assigning roles to individuals.
Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, and trainers provided hands-on demonstrations to address their queries, said the statement.
Furthermore, the participants were provided with a manual on e-office, prepared by JaKeGA, which offers step-by-step instructions and FAQs for users.
