JAMMU: State Vigilance Commission today asked the audit team of Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (JAKFED) to submit a final status report to the Government for initiating action against officials allegedly involved in misappropriation of funds.
SVC has considered the status report submitted by the Committee of Auditors, an SVC spokesman said.
Following a complaint by S K Bhalla against the officials of JAKFED alleging huge misappropriation of funds, the Government constituted a committee to conduct an audit of the imprest accounts of the officials and finalise a factual report for further action.
While adjudicating upon the complaint, the Commission was informed that an amount of Rs 20.28 lakh has been verified and recommended for adjustment against the imprest advance of serving and retired employees of JAKFED whose accounts are being audited.
The Commission was also informed that Rs 341.09 lakh stands examined and adjusted against the total amount of Rs 893.42 lakh while Rs 147.28 lakh are being audited, he said.
The Commission directed them to speed up the process and ensure that the final status report is submitted to Principal Secretary to the Government Cooperative Department within the fixed deadline of two months. (AGENCIES)
