BHADERWAH, Apr 23: In a significant step towards improving healthcare, the Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah (Doda) successfully performed a laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery for the second time in a week.
The surgery was performed under the supervision of Dr. Mohd. Ashraf, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Bhaderwah.
The surgical team, led by Dr. Subhash Sharma (Surgeon Specialist) and Dr. Azma (Anaesthetist), executed the procedure with the support of dedicated staff in the OT unit.
Both the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Doda, Dr. Om Kumar and BMO Bhaderwah, Dr. Mohd Ashraf, commended the surgical team for their skill and precision and expressed hope that such groundbreaking surgeries will become more frequent, reducing the need for patients to seek medical care outside the region.
Dr. Ashraf emphasized that hospital’s acquisition of the latest technology allows patients to undergo common laparoscopic surgeries without having to travel to big cities.
A handout stated that this development ensures safer and smoother surgeries for the community and signifies a major improvement in local healthcare infrastructure.
