Successful trail run of first Electric Engine Train on Banihal-Khari section

RAMBAN, Dec 5: The first electric train trail run from Banihal to Khari section on Banihal-Katra section of Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project in Ramban district was successfully conducted today.
The trail run was conducted on a 16 km long track and tunnels between Banihal and Khari Stations in Ramban.
Engineers of IRCON International Limited engaged by Northern Railway for the USBRL Project informed that the 25 KV Railway Electrification (ROCS) work between Banihal and Khari Stations was completed and the first trial run of electric engine with six coaches was successfully conducted by Northern Railway’s Firozpur Division.
They said that train trail runs are being conducted in the presence of senior officers and engineers of Northern Railway and construction company IRCON officials at around 4 pm.
It is important to mention here that the work on Sangaldan and Sumber Stations is underway and is nearing completion.
