SAMBA, Dec 9: Chief patron of National Panthers Party Prof Bhim Singh playing emotional card today asked the people of Samba town including five major ‘Mandis’ and mostly the ex-servicemen to vote for NPP for better development and to end discrimination with Jammu region.
While addressing public rallies, Prof Bhim Singh said that brave people from these historic Mandis of Samba had played the great role of the Dogras in the Ist and 2nd World War and also played an exemplary role for the defense of the State in 1947 when Pakistan invaded J&K.
Prof Singh in his address pleaded to support Panthers Party candidate Yashpaul Kundal, a sitting MLA of the area.
The NPP leader condemned hostile and discriminatory attitude of the successive Governments in J&K right from Sheikh Abdullah to Omar Abdullah only because Samba is legendary of Army martyrs who stood by integration of the State with the rest of the country during the Pakistan aggressions. Prof Singh said that Kashmiri rulers dragged out even the bricks from the walls of the Samba Fort and destroyed its world famed Mandis with a revengeful retaliation. He said that Samba Assembly constituency has been a reserved (SC) constituency for the past 18 years and there is no hope of its restoration as general seat for another 18 years.
Prof Singh accused BJP which has been opposing delimitation of the constituencies at every platform just to appease Kashmiri rulers. He criticized Prime Minister Modi for ignoring Jammu during his speech in the United Nations and later in Kishtwar. Mr Modi during his recent visit to Samba and Udhampur did not support the aspirations of the Dogra Pradesh and did not mention the tragedy of delimitation, injustice to the Dogras or the plight of the 15 lakh refugees from PoK and Pakistan residing in Dogra Desh. He said that only way out is establishment of Jammu Dogra Pahari State with separate Chief Ministers, recruitment boards, Public Service Commissions and budget for both the States.
