JAMMU, Jan 8: Highlighting the sufferings of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) today alleged that the Government has failed to redress the problems of displaced Hindus from Valley which have compounded day by day after their mass exodus.
Talking to reporters here, today president AIMCCC, Desh Rattan Pandita said that successive Governments never showed any sincere concern for the rehabilitation and settlement of the displaced people in Valley in accordance to their geo-political aspirations.
Rattan, while strongly demanding restoration of encroached land of Pandits in Valley said the recent order regarding implementation of the Distress Sale Act was an eye wash as the concerned revenue officials have not taken any action against the encroachers of migrant land and property till date. He alleged that the revenue officials are hand in glove with the land grabbers and the higher ups in Government are looking as mute spectators.
He said that some community employees were terminated from jobs for no fault of theirs and demanded that this issue be thoroughly probed and these employees be compensated for the loss and damage suffered by them. He also demanded a healing touch policy be initiated for over aged displaced youth who are the main victims of turmoil and migrants be also given benefits of various welfare schemed launched by Modi Government from time to time.
Rattan also demanded digging of four bore wells at Jagti to overcome water scarcity in the camp, enhancement of cash relief to Rs 25,000 per family, registration of migrants under Ayushman Bharat, holding of elections on two reserved seats instead of nomination, settling of demands of Rajput community putting up in Valley and transport facilities from Jammu Cioty to jagti township.
