SUDHMAHADEV, June 13: The historic Sudhmahadev Mela in tehsil Chenani of Udhampur district commenced today with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Thousands of devotees from within and outside the UT visited the holy Sudhmahadev temple to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva during the first day of the mela.
Chairman Block Development Council, Chennai, Parkash Chand was the chief guest who formally inaugurated the Mela in presence of DDC Councillor, Usha Devi, Sub Divisional Magistrate Chenani, Parvaiz Naik.
Various government departments have setup their departmental stalls to educate the common masses about the various state and centrally sponsored schemes for the socio economic upliftment of the people.
On the occasion, the cultural troops drawn from various educational institutions including local folk artist presented folk dances and cultural programmes depicting the tradition of the areas which was highly appreciated by the audience.
