SUF projects local demands, lauds Modi

JAMMU, Apr 23: J&K Sikh United Front chairman Sudarshan Singh Wazir appreciated the celebration of 400th Parkash Utsav of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib from Lal Qila Fort Delhi by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
In the meeting various issues confronting the Sikh community were also discussed and an appeal was made to the PM Modi to resolve the issues in letter and spirit and announce during his visit to Jammu on Sunday.
The United Front appealed to the PM for Pahari status to Pahari/Refugees of 1947. They also demanded Rs 30 lakhs package to all PoK refugees of 1947 and claimed that one instalment of Rs 5.50 lakhs has been received. The security be provided to Sikh dominated areas in Kashmir at par with Kashmiri Pandits. The Punjabi language be given the status of official language in Jammu and Kashmir. They also demanded reserved seats for the Sikh candidates in Assembly and Lok Sabha.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included- Darbinder Singh, Raja Singh, Ravinder Singh, Kulwant Singh and Gajan Singh.
