SUF seeks community support for DGPC polls

JAMMU, July 4:  While assuring community for better management of  Sikh religious places, Sikh United Front (J&K) has sought public support for the candidates in the DGPC elections.
Addressing press conference here today, Avtar Singh Khalsa, a Front leader contesting elections from Bishnah segment of district Jammu said that Panthak candidates are contesting elections with the blessings of Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Naglai Sahib.
Khalsa said that election manifesto has been prepared after discussing community issues at various levels and Panthak candidates would implement the same after being elected to the district committees. It will be the among the priorities of the SUF candidates to implement Punjabi in schools and colleges and manage appointment  of Punjabi teachers in all schools.
Front will strike for creating website for providing every information regarding the income and the details of property of all Gurdwaras of the district along with the monthly statement of accounts which cane be easily accessed from the website by all, to inculcate Sikh Maryada among the youth through Gurdwara Committees and set up free coaching centres to prepare Sikh youth for competitive examinations, to create fund for poor students, widows and destitute, take up issue of DPs of 1947, 65 and 71 with the Government  and to enhance the emoluments of Granthis, Ragis and Sewadars employed by DGPCs.
Mr Attar also sought support for the SUF candidates. He said 11 candidates have been fielded in district Jammu. The candidates are- Fatesh Singh from Gadigarh, Harpreet Singh from Digiana, Avtar Singh from Bishnah, Balbir Singh from Nanak Nagar, Darbinder Singh Gole Gujral, Sukhjeet Singh from Akhnoor, Kuldeep Singh from Jammu West, Ramneek Singh  from Jammu East, Jankar Singh from R S Pura, Raja Singh from Darsopur and Ranjeet Singh from Kirpind.
