Sufficient stock of drugs, blood available in health institutions: Bali

SRINAGAR, July 12: Minister for Health & Medical Education Bali Bhagat today said that Health Department collected more than 225 blood points in the blood donation camps organized by the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) at District Hospital Anantnag, District Hospital, Baramulla, District Hospital, Handwara, Sub-District Hospital, Sopore and Sub- District Hospital, Chadoora.
The Minister said that Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) has been organizing blood donation camps in health institutions across the valley on routine basis and has collected 225 blood points during these camps. He said that over 90 points and 57 points were collected only at District Hospital Anantnag and District Hospital Baramulla respectively.
The Minister said that there is no dearth of blood in district health institutions, Government Medical College & Hospital and Associated Hospital and enough to meet any exigency.  He said that the health institutions of the valley have adequate stock of life saving drugs and surgical equipments.  He said that there are 5 operation theatres functional in SMHS and 5 surgeons have been deployed   who are working round-the-clock there.  He said that better medicare is being provided to the injured for their early recovery.
Appealing the general public especially to youth to help in maintaining peace and restoring normalcy and tranquility in the Valley, the Minister asked them to allow free movement of ambulances and other vehicles carrying essentials commodities so that these could reach to their destinations.
