Srinagar Oct 30: High Court directed the State Government to suitably post former Medical Superintendent of G B Pant Hospital, Dr Javed Ahmad Chowdhary who was last year attached to Government Medical College, Srinagar after furore over “high child mortality rate at the hospital during his tenure”.
The order comes after an inquiry ordered by the State Government against Dr Chowdhary exonerated him in August this year.
While disposing off a writ petition filed by Dr Chowdhary, Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir directed Principal Government Medical College to allow the petitioner to perform the work/task against the post commensurate to his status and report compliance within two weeks before the Registry.
Earlier, the State Government in its order (No. ME/Legal/Gaz/07/2013-J) had asked the Principal Government Medical College Srinagar to entrust Dr Chowdhary with some task so as to utilize his availability.
