JAMMU, Apr 20: Senior BJP leader and former Minister Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar has demanded the clearance of payments for Rural Development Department’s (RDD) vendors and suppliers who have supplied construction materials such as sand, cement, and bricks to the department in the past few years.
According to the BJP leader, the payments have been pending for over three years, and the vendors have been facing financial difficulties due to the delay.
A delegation of vendors, led by Raj Kumar Babbi, Narinder Singh, Sham Lal, Harjeet Singh, Ashok Kumar, Raj Kumar, Mahesh Bhardwaj, and others, visited Sukhnandan at his residence in Marh to seek his assistance.
Sukhnandan had earlier met with LG Manoj Sinha to apprise him of the issue, and the LG had assured him that the matter would be resolved.
Sukhnandan has promised to take up the issue once again at the Raj Bhawan to ensure that the vendors’ livelihoods are not affected.
He has also assured the vendors that the payments pending with the government would be released at the earliest.
Sukhnandan praised the Modi government for initiating various works, especially in rural areas, and the Srinagar and Jammu Smart Cities project.
