UDHAMPUR, May 29: Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sukhnandan Kumar today inaugurated newly constructed Water Supply Scheme-Channi Mansar.
A lift scheme, with Gambhir Nallah as sources, has been developed to delink Mansar Lake, and completed at a cost of Rs 5.28 crore.
With a capacity of supplying 15000-gallon water per day, the scheme will benefit 17300 population of Channi Mansar, Morah Padey, Lower Machia, Upper Kha, Saral, Chowa, Battal, Kakrae, Bhatti and pilgrim/tourist spots of Khoon and Mansar.
MLA Ramnagar R S Pathania,  Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary,  Chief Engineer, PHE Pran Nath, SE PHE, SE Irrigation and Flood control, XEn PHE, Sarpanchs, Panchs and a large number of local people of the area were also present on the occasion.
Minister also listened to the demands of the people  and assured all possible help from the Govt side.
MLA Ramnagar demanded additional WSS for Majalta Hqr  and water tankers for Majalta and Ramnagar. He urged for sanctioning of more funds for making old WSS functional.
Earlier, Minister inspected the under construction Water Supply Schemes Sialkoribar and Bilaspur-Deot at Majalta area.
The Minister directed the executing agency to ensure speedy completion of these WSS so that the people of the area get the desired  benefit  at the earliest
