JAMMU, Apr 12: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sukhnandan Chowdhary laid foundation stone of Sant Gurubaksh Singh Ji Danna Memorial Group of Educational Institutions here today at Domana on birth anniversary of Sant Gurubaksh Ji.
A team headed by Daljeet Singh Bedi of Shiromani Gurudawara Parbandak Committee Shri Amritsar were also present on the occasion .
Among others Ex Minister Gurumukh Singh, MLC Charanjit Singh, Advocate Joginder Singh, donor of land for institution, Balwant Raj, Trilochan Singh Wazir, senior citizens and Sadh Sangat were present.
In view of upcoming Baisakhi festival a grand Satsang was organized by the trustees along with committee members at Gurudwara Sant Gurubaksh Singh.
Describing unity in diversity hallmark of Jammu and Kashmir’s pluralistic ethos, the minister eulogized the role of Sikh community in socio-economic emancipation of the state.
Addressing a big congregation of devotees, the Minister called for collective efforts to steer the state to the pinnacles of development, progress, peace and prosperity. He announced Rs 51000 for the construction of Dental College.
The Minister said that Government’s endeavour for upliftment of the people of all the three regions of the State, irrespective of caste creed and colour. He solicited the cooperation of the people in realizing the dream of making the State economically vibrant and prosperous.
Referring to the demands put forth by the Gurudwara committee in a resolution, the Minister assured that the Govt. will definitely redress these issues immediately.
Minister for Social Welfare Bali Bhagat also attended the Sikh Sangat on this occasion.
Later, Minister for PHE visited the lift irrigation plant and directed the concerned authority.
