JAMMU, Jan 22: Former Minister for Public Health Engineering, Irrigation and Flood Control and and MLA Marh, Choudhary Sukhnandan, today laid the foundation stone of multipurpose community hall at Deorian Napu.
While speaking on the occasion, Choudhary Sukhnandan said that the community hall will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 57 lakh. He asked the officers that there would be not be any compromise on quality of material and the work should be finished well in time.
The BJP MLA said that he is committed in making all out efforts to upgrade living condition of urban poor lot, adding that for this purpose several new projects have already been taken in hand at a number of places like multipurpose community halls, deep drill tubewells, receiving stations, schools besides better link roads, lanes and drains.
He informed that Government has provided liberal funding for developing all the basties on modern lines. He warned the unscrupulous elements eying to grab nallah land and added that stringent action will be taken against them besides eviction of the Government property.
Reiterating commitment to provide better civic amenities to the people, he said that massive development activities have been launched across the State to ensure safe drinking water, better sewerage, lanes and drains and hygienic surroundings in every nook and corner of the State.
The MLA said that with the starting of the work on community hall, the long pending demand of the people has been redressed, adding that necessary instructions have been given to the concerned engineers to complete the works within stipulated time frame.
He asked the people to personally monitor the quality of ongoing development works in their respective areas adding that without their cooperation the Government’s objective of taking the State’s development tempo to new heights cannot be achieved.
