JAMMU, Dec 8: Suman Gupta one of the internationally known magic realist artist of the state has been invited to show his art works in the 2nd edition of “Bodhgaya Biennille” taking place at Bodhgaya, Bihar from December 16 to December 23, 2018.
Apart from India, the artists from more than fifteen countries including England, Cuba, Netherland, USA, Australia, Srilanka, Bangladesh and Indonesia will be showcasing their works of art.
The theme of Bodhgaya Biennille-2018 will be Migration. Migration is the movement by the people from one place to other, in a new environment, in a new system, or in a new climate, temporarily or permanently. It could be within the country or globally.
Migration of people or of a population is not merely physical shifting rather in fact with the migrant entire culture language also gets migrated.
Suman Gupta subjects are mostly consisting of the elements taken from nature, human dwellers in his immediate surroundings, the annual migration of the nomadic groups from the highland region of Shivalik Hills to the plains in the start of winter.
His portrayal of these subjects is compelling and beautiful and his deftness brings attention to these simple forms, encouraging the viewer to re-examine the presence of these objects.
