Suman Gupta to create series of historical art works

JAMMU, July 26: Internationally acclaimed artist of J&K, Suman Gupta has been invited for a major art project to create a series of art works based on history of Jammu.
A New York based Art Collector has commissioned Gupta to do a series of art works based on some of the historical narratives like Raja Jambu Lochan and the city of Jammu, origin of city of Jammu on the bank of river Tawi, Temples of Purmandal, Sacred shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi etc.
Suman Gupta is a serious and research oriented painter with objective reality and his every new work explores the hidden reality with consistency and conviction.
He has been working in ancient technique of egg tempera and dry brush for the past more than 30 years and has accomplished hundreds of art works which have gone into the collection of some of the top connoisseurs both in India and abroad.
Two of his new works were part of the just concluded major international art project by Andy Warhol Museum, Carnegie Science Museum and Gallery Christine Frechard in Pittsburgh in USA.
