JAMMU, Aug 17: Renowned artist, Suman Gupta, has been invited to ‘SAMA-VAYA’ Art Retreat by Skyview by Empyrean at Sanget Valley.
The art retreat is being curated by the prominent Mumbai-based curator Anupa Mehta.
‘Sama-Vaya’, which means ‘union’ in Sanskrit, signifies the art of weaving together colourful threads to create a beautiful fabric.
Inspired by this concept, the Sama-Vaya Art Retreat aims to bring together acclaimed artists and craftsmen from across India to collaborate, exchange ideas and produce inspiring artworks.
Suman Gupta is a dedicated and research-oriented painter whose work consistently explores hidden realities with conviction and a moral undercurrent. For over three decades, he has experimented with the ancient techniques of egg tempera and dry brush besides working in acrylic and graphite.
His subjects primarily consist of elements from nature and human dwellers in his immediate surroundings, created with profound sensitivity in a style of magic realism.
Recently, he has produced a series of new works that will be featured in his upcoming show in Finland early next year.
A handout stated that all artworks inspired by this exclusive retreat, reflecting Jammu’s stunning landscapes, will be displayed in an exhibition on August 25, 2024, at Skyview by Empyrean, Patnitop.
