JAMMU, June 19: The two-day Summer Carnival at Neeltop, Ramban, organized by the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu, and District Administration Ramban, concluded successfully, leaving adventure enthusiasts eager for future opportunities.
The event showcased a range of activities like trekking, camping, and musical performances, attracting participants from diverse backgrounds.
On the second day, a cleanliness drive was held at the base camp in Wasemarg, followed by an exciting trekking expedition through the unexplored and picturesque meadows. Led by DDC Member Ramsoo Bashir Ahmed Naik, a group of sixty adventure enthusiasts, including nine-year-old Pallavi Katoch, embarked on a trek to Eithantgarh, Ramban.
DDC Member Ramban Bashir Ahmed praised the organizers, particularly the Tourism Department, for arranging this fun-filled activity that offered a rewarding experience.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam, highlighted the expedition’s objective of fostering national integration, instilling a spirit of adventure in youth, and raising awareness about the environment.
Director Tourism Jammu, Vivekanand Rai, expressed plans to explore more unexplored landscapes in the region. Joint Director Tourism Jammu, Sunaina Sharma Mehta, encouraged participants to share their experiences on social media to promote the region’s hidden gems.
Arif Lone, ADT NHW, stated that the trekking expedition had a transformative impact on the participants. He stressed the importance of reconnecting youth with nature for its preservation.
The evening featured cultural presentations, musical performances, and camping amidst the serene surroundings. Neeltop, Ramban, known for its pristine meadows and breathtaking views, proved to be a refreshing summer destination.
This Summer Carnival was a collaborative effort of the Tourism Department, actively developing and promoting offbeat destinations in the Jammu region. Dr Syed Rasheed Shah, Secretary Tourism J&K, has played a crucial role in this endeavor.
