Summer children theatre, dance & painting workshop concludes

JAMMU, July 2: In connection with concluding of the 20 days long summer children theatre, dance and painting workshops, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today organized a valedictory function at KL Saigal Hall.
On the occasion, Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was the chief guest, who awarded the budding artists about cultural heritage through music, dance, painting and theatre.
More than fifty children from different schools got opportunity to know about cultural heritage through the basic training of the classical dance and theatre and the visual art as well.
Dr AS Amin, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages said that the aim of organizing these workshops is to motivate the youth towards the eminent and rich tradition, culture and values through the medium of visual and performing arts.
In this twenty day workshop a hilarious comedy play namely Girgit prepared by the children and staged today which was highly appreciated by the chief guest and the audience as well.
Shantmanu also inaugurated the exhibition of painting prepared by the children.
Naresh Kumar and Marvi Sharma were instructors of painting while the play was prepared by Dr Sudhir Mahajan. Bishan Dass and Bhupinder Singh designed the music of the play. Satish Lalotra was on the dholak, Deepak Kumar was on the synth and Sahi Jasotra was on Acupad.
The children who participated in the play were Raginee Gupta, Bhanu Priya, Yaenakshi Koushal, Bhuvan Mahajan, Adhishwar Narayan Tak, Aashram Mahajan, Aryan Anand, Neharika, Nipun Anand, Devvrat Sharma, Tanvi Mahajan, Raisa Gupta, Sahil Choudhary, Tanvin Arora, Ansh Arora, Mukul Sharma, Arihant Sudan, Akanksha Jamwal, Vishali Sharma, Yogini, Anandi Mahajan, Abhijit Khajuria, Sckand Khajuria, Nandita Sharma, Yashasvi Pandita, Arpit Gupta, Aabhas Upadhaya, Yuvraj Upadhaya and Arnav Gupta.
The children who participated in the painting workshop were Nandita Sharma, Abhijit Khajuria, Sikand Khajuria, Yuvika Sharma, Asmee Gupta, Mukal Sharma, Ansh Arora, Tanvi Arora, Vatsayan, Satyam Tiwari, Lakshtita Sethi, Yeenakshi Kaushal, Devrat Sharma, Nipum Anand, Neharika Anand, Aryan Anand, Adhishewer Naryan, Himadri Anand, Bhuwan Mahajan, Tanvi Mahajan, Raghav Gupta, Avinash Kumar, Arishant Sudan and Anandi Mahajan.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Gurmeet Kour, while vote of thanks was presented by Dr Sudhir Mahajan.
