Sumo rolls down; minor killed, 10 injured

DODA, Sept 2: A minor boy was killed, while 10 others were injured, when the Tata Sumo they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge near Gandoh.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14A-8757 was on its way to Gandoh from Chowri, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into 70-feet deep gorge near Sheep quarters, Gandoh.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Gandoh in police and other vehicles.
At SDH Gandoh, Shahzad Hussain (7), son of Reham Tullah Zargar of Bhargi, Gandoh failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries, while the condition of the injured was stated to be stable, when last reports came in.
The injured have been identified as Baby (2 months), daughter of Sarfraz Ahmed of Angroor, Raksha Devi, wife of Sunil Kumar of Drai, Om Raj, son of Dhuni Chand of Kansar, Mulkh Raj, son of Diwan Chand of Chowri, Zahir Abbas, son of Reham Tullah of Drai, Naseema Begum, wife of Sarfraz Ahmed of Angroor, Noor Mohammd, son of Mohammad Abrahim of Kondaloo, Zahir Ahmed, son of Andul Aziz of Chenyas, Anjum Mubina, daughter of Raham Tullah Zargar of Bargi and Faroz Din, son of Sher Khan of Angroor.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered and manhunt has been launched to arrest the driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Kailash Kumar of Gausaw.
However, driver of the vehicle was at large when last reports compiled.
