SRINAGAR : Sun was playing hide and seek since this morning in the Kashmir valley, where the maximum and minimum temperatures remained down due to continued icy winds.
A Met department spokesman said there could be light rain or thundershowers in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
He said the temperatures would remain below normal tomorrow also, however, during the subsequent two days, the weather would remain mainly dry.
Gulmarg, the world famous ski resort, which attracts record number of tourists and skiers in last winters, recorded 5.5 degrees Celsius minimum temperature, about five notches below normal.
There was some improvement in Pahalgam, base camp of holy Amarnath cave, in south Kashmir, the spokesman said, adding the minimum temperature was 6.4 degree, 1.6 degree below normal.
He said the maximum temperature in Srinagar, was 24.2 degrees yesterday, five notches below normal.
The minimum temperature was also about three degrees below normal after 5.5 mm rainfall was recorded last evening.
The sky would remain partly cloudy tomorrow when both the temperatures would remain below normal.
The minimum temperature remained below normal at Qazigund, Kokernag and Kupwara, the spokesman added.
