JAMMU, Jan 24: A Sunday Art and Painting Workshop was inaugurated at Kala Kendra here today.
The workshop was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu under the supervision of senior artist OP Sharma, Director JKCCA, Jammu.
The workshop was inaugurated by chief guest Ramesh Arora former MLC and senior BJP leader. Bharat Gandhi, Former MLA Ramban and TS Batra, veteran artist and former Principal Institute of Music and Fine Arts were the guests of honour whereas Santosh Tiku, senior Artist of J&K was the special guest on this occasion. Deepak Kumar, a senior artist of Jammu was the coordinator of the workshop.
Technical experts TS Batra, Santosh Tiku and OP Sharma interacted with the participants of the workshop and gave demonstration and tips of doing painting etc.
Ramesh Arora in his address said that JKCCA established in 1999 is a prominent NGO working in the field of art, culture and languages in Jammu and Kashmir. He extended his wholehearted support to JKCCA for the promotion of art and culture in the region.
OP Sharma, Director JKCCA told that the workshop would be conducted on every second and fourth Sunday from 2 pm to 5 pm, regularly from the month of March, 2021. He said that the aim of conducting art workshop is to regulate art activity in the city after the break due to impact of COVID- 19. He added that interested art students or learners of any age group can attend the workshop and the workshop would be free of any entry fee. The participants who regularly attend the workshop for a particular period would get certificates of participation also.
