Sunil meets fire victims at Khajrooni village, distributes relief

KISHTWAR, Nov 4: Minister of State for Transport (Ind charge) PWD(R&B) Revenue, Agriculture Production, RDD and Panchayti Raj and YSS, Sunil Kumar Sharma today met fire victims of village Khajrooni Padder and handed over relief cheques and other material to the affected families.
Six houses were gutted, while several others were partially damaged in the this far flung village of Sub division Padder, few days back.
The Minister gave away cheque amounting to Rs 1.019 lakh each to the affected families for reconstruction of their damaged houses.
In another major announcement, he informed the locals that MoS in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh has assured to provide Rs five lakh to each family who suffered losses in the fire. Also one eligible member of the family will be recruited as Special Police officer (SPO) in J&K Police.
The Minister also announced to provide 6 month free ration and Rs 3000 monthly rent to the affected families till they are permanently rehabilitated. In addition to this, the Minister personally gave Rs 10,000 thousand each to the affected family.
Each affected family was also provided a tent, a kitchen set and solar home light, besides 100 blankets were also distributed among them.
While talking to people, the Minister assured full help to the people and said that the Government will provide every type of support to them as and when needed.
Meanwhile, the Minister directed the concerned officers to ascertain the cause of fire and actual loss of property so that the families are provided adequate compensation.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, G.N Balwan and other officers of district administration also accompanied the Minister during the visit.
