Kishtwar, Oct 5: Minister of State for Transport, PWD (R&B), Revenue, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Sunil Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Rural Development Department.
The Minister reviewed the physical and financial achievements under various schemes in the district and directed the concerned authorities to focus on creating durable assets within fixed span of time. He reiterated that the developmental works to be executed by RDD in the district should be taken up in convergence with other departments to create a pool of tangible assets for the welfare of public.
The Minister while taking a block wise review of the various schemes of RDD enquired about the number of works taken, expenditure incurred, availability of funds and execution of various RDD schemes on ground etc. He directed the concerned BDOs to ensure monitoring of the works and implementation of schemes in a transparent and accountable manner.
The Minister also called for taking up various works in consultation with the MLA concerned. He further asked the concerned authorities to ensure time bound completion of various ongoing developmental works in the district.
DDC Kishtwar G N Balwan, SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir, CPO Yasir Balwan, ADC Kishori Lal, ACD Kishtwar Rashied Dar, BDOs, and other staff of the Rural Development Department attended the meeting.
