JAMMU, June 12: Dogri Sanstha Jammu released Sunil Sharma’s Dogri novel ‘Dark Chocklate’ in a simple but impressive function at its office in Karan Nagar, Jammu.
Dark Chocklate revolves around multiple tracks. The main character of the novel is an engineer who gets posted in a remote village and helps the innocent villagers in his own capacity. He starts awareness campaigning thus making the poor villagers aware of quality drinking water and importance of water in our life. The script has romantic angle also with his affection for young beautiful daughter of Sarpanch. The novel also exposes the drug trafficking from across the border. ‘Dark Chocklate’ is in fact the code word used by drug traffickers for smuggling of drugs.
The function was presided over by Prof Lalit Magotra, president of Dogri Sanstha, Jammu. While presiding over the function, Prof Magotra complemented Sunil Sharma for penning down a beautiful novel in mother tongue Dogri and hoped that he will continue his literary endeavors in future also. He was of the opinion that novel writing is not so easy. It requires more concentration and skills of the writer. The characters involved should never look like fillers used to just fill up the pages but these characters should provide all twists and pace required to connect with the theme.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sunil Sharma has been writing in Hindi and Dogri languages for a long time now. Although his majority of works are in Ghazals but with this novel he has joined the league of those litterateurs who have the credit of writing novels in Dogri.
The book release function was anchored by Dr Chanchal Bhasin and attended by galaxy of literatures of Dogri and Hindi.
