NEW DELHI:
Sun shone bright today in the national capital providing much needed relief to Delhiites even as dense fog was witnessed in the morning which disrupted operations of 30 flights and 55 trains.
The maximum temperature today settled at 21.1 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season’s average while the minimum was recorded 8.4 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal.
The visibility was recorded 800 meters at 5.30 AM which had decreased significantly to 50 meters at 8.30 AM with vehicles plying on the roads with their headlights on, a MeT official said.
Due to dense fog in the morning 30 flights were delayed.
“Services of 55 trains including premiere trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi Express and Duronto Express were severely affected due to bad weather conditions,” a Northern Railway official said.
However, as the day progressed, sun shone bright and the visibility was recorded 800 meters at 11.30 AM which improved significantly to 2000 meters at 2.30 PM and 5.30 PM.
The weatherman has predicted clear sky for tomorrow.
“The sky will be mainly clear. There will be moderate to dense fog in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at 21 and 8 degrees Celsius,” the official said. (AGENCIES)
