JAMMU, June 10: Police today arrested a supari killer wanted in two murder cases registered at Guwahati from Satwari area of the winter capital.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Satwari police station laid a naka, intercepted a mini-bus and arrested the supari killer, who has been identified as Gurmeet Singh alias Lattu, resident of Ward Number 1, Bhour Camp.
He said that the supari killer was wanted in two murder cases registered under FIR numbers 266/11 and 771/12 at Basishtha police station, Guwahati, adding that the accused had taken supari for eliminating someone in Jammu and his attempt was thwarted by Satwari police.
“We have informed the Guwahati police about his arrest and a police team from there will be here shortly”, he said, adding that the accused will be handed over to them for further investigation into the cases registered with their police station.
Police party led by Probationer DySP Shabir Khan made the arrest under the direct supervision of SDPO South Uday Baskar Billa, SP South Rajeshwar Singh and SSP Jammu Atul Goel.
