JAMMU, July 18: A meeting of Senior Citizens was held at Sainik Colony, here today.
The meeting decided to constitute a body namely Super Senior Citizens Council, Sainik Colony Jammu in order to maintain love, peace, unity, communal harmony, compassion, understanding and respect in the society.
OP Mangotra, retired Deputy Director Agriculture was unanimously elected as the chairman of the Council.
Col(Retd) Pradyuman Kumar was elected as the Vice Chairman, while Dr Khem Raj Sharma, Deputy Director Veterinary (Retd) was elected General Secretary of the Council.
Rashpal Singh, Educationist was elected as the Press Secretary, while Anand Kishore Khajuria, Educationist(Retd) was elected as the Organiser.
Dr VS Jamwal, Director Auy (Retd.), KK Dubey, CEO(Retd), KS Manhas, Educationist, Subash Gupta, Educationist were named as Executive Members.
DR Kapoor, Commissioner Municipal Corporation (Retd) and Dr SS Najotra, GP Capt (Retd) were unanimously elected as advisors of the Council.
In the end, the newly elected chairman appealed to all the members of the Council to take active part in the development of their respective areas for the betterment of the society.
